With our video platform Nudgis, we try to help students learn better through video. We help our clients, the Higher Education Institutions, digitise the lecture part of their courses and deliver it asynchronously. Why do we do this? There are many reasons. But the main one is that students can see and review their courses at their own pace, wherever they are and whenever they want!
The key to achieving this is to have teachers who are willing to transform their practices by recording short video capsules.
Despite all the goodwill in the world, if the tools at their disposal are not up to the challenge, if the first experience is not good enough, they will quickly become discouraged and it will be very complicated to re-engage them in the process.
At UbiCast, we offer within the Nudgis platform a tool called Webstudio that allows anyone to self-record with their webcam and/or computer screen (with audio of course!).
Once the recording is complete, you can edit your video. An important part is trimming the video. Often, the teacher wants to delete one or more parts of the video before making the content available to his or her students. It is quite normal to want to give the best image and provide the clearest content possible. Especially since, in order to captivate your audience, you need to be able to deliver impactful content in a few minutes. That's why cutting makes sense!
Over the last few weeks, our teams have been working hard to revise the ergonomics of the trimming function, but also its precision... And we are proud to announce that it is now possible to trim video contents to the nearest frame, to the nearest millisecond!
In concrete terms, this means that there is much less risk of cutting off a word while it is being spoken for example. In short, with the improvement of this tool, it is now more convenient and it will allow you to produce more qualitative videos!
It's now your turn to test it and tell us what you think about it!
